TOMMY
MOORE Tommy Moore began his service as a criminal investigator with the District Attorney's office in 1998. As Chief Criminal Investigator, his work includes conducting criminal investigations as assigned by the District Attorney. When requested, he also assists the sheriff's departments in both Marion and Winston counties, as well as the 10 police departments in both counties. Mr. Moore also works with the Worthless Check Units and Child Support Units in both counties in helping with the arrest of those for whom warrants or pick-up orders have been issued. Mr. Moore has a combined number of 18 years in law enforcement – four as a uniformed officer and 14 as a criminal investigator. He began his law enforcement career as a reserve deputy with the Winston County Sheriff's Department, and, after becoming a full-time officer, he held the positions of deputy sheriff, investigator, chief investigator, and chief deputy. Mr. Moore attended Winston County High School and later attended the Southeast Police Academy at Jacksonville State University. He has also completed numerous continuing education classes and courses in criminal investigations and general law enforcement.
